Twisted Oaks, Dartmoor, 1
I find the twisted, flame-like, nature of these ancient oak trees fascinating. The yellowish light is the reflection of the leaves off the overcast sky. This site of special scientific interest, Wistman's wood, is a tiny remnant of the forests that covered Dartmoor. Despite being drawfed by the climate, the oldest of these trees is 400-500 years old.
